Are you aware that the Moomba wakeplate system has some new user-friendly functionality for 2014? Moomba's wakeplate now has performance logic built into it, so that the driver does not have to adjust the plate as often. Actually, truth be told, the wakeplate itself is the same. The performance change is controlled by the new Digital Cruise Pro II system on the dash.

For starters, the wakeplate now automatically drops down to 100% deflection when you stop the boat. This helps the boat plane off faster when you go to accelerate again.
If your speed control is off, then the plate re-sets to a 50% deflection when the boat accelerates faster than 15 mph.
If your speed control is on, then the plate re-sets to a 50% delfection when you accelerate past 50% of your SET speed.
For instance, if you are wakeboarding at a 22 mph set speed, then the wakeplate will automatically re-set at 11 mph. If you are surfing at a 10 mph set speed, then it will reset at 5 mph.

The wakeplate function is not programmable, but it does have a memory. If the driver adjusts the wakeplate while operating the boat, say from 50% to 30%, then it will continue to re-set to 30% every time the boat accelerates, until the boat is keyed off. Once the boat is keyed off, then on again, it automatically resets to the 50% deflection level once it crosses the speed adjustment threshold.

This new auto wakeplate functionality applies to all M Series Moomba models: Mondo, Mobius LSV, and Mojo 2.5. It is not available on the Outback V.

For a little background information on wakeplate performance, the wakeplate has two main functions. 1) In the down position, it helps the boat get on plane faster. It does this by adding "Hook" to the back of the boat. Hook drives the nose of the boat down, and lifts the rear of the boat, resulting in faster acceleration. 2) Once the boat is on plane, the wakeplate give the user the ability to adjust the bow attitude of the boat. This also changes the shape of the wakes. Generally, when the wakeplate is up, the bow is up (stern is down). This tends to allow the wakes to come up to their maximum size, or steeper shaped on the ramp of the wake. When the wakeplate is down, the bow is down (stern is lifted). This tends to flatten or soften the wakes. It is best to be familiar with all of the variations of wakeplate settings of each Moomba model, and how they can change with various speeds, ballast, and people in the boat. if you ever experience a bouncing feeling in the bow (a condition called porpoising) a simple tap downward on the wakeplate will stop that. If it does not stop it, then there is too much weight towards the stern of the boat.]]>

A traditional bow boat infused with shock and awe, the 2014 SC350, SC450 and SC550 from Supra Boats are poised to smoke the competition in their class. The wake performance of the SC will help you do the same to your competitors behind the boat.

The shape and size of SC wakes will take your performance beyond better with specific hull design, 410Kgs of hard tank sub structural floor Liquid Lead ballast, an optional 590KgsFlex System and the versatile SmartPlate.

The SC350-550 cranks huge walls of water for launching off of both sides and calms the water with a SmartPlate adjustment at skiing speeds, but its true calling lies with the curl. Huge pushy waves, no bow rise, superior handling even when weighted and increased interior depth make the new SC a curl carver's dream.

Beyond the performance, one look at its menacing style and intricately plush interior and you'll realize the SC is a luxury muscle car on the water. This Supra is specifically designed to deliver punishing performance along with inspired interior accommodations. This wake boat isn't about smoke and mirrors.

The 2014 SC350-550 smokes the competition.

The new 2014 Moomba Boats Mondo is just that, MONDO! This 20-foot 6-inch water sports tow boat is not big in price or stature, but it offers huge performance and monster comfort. The wakes behind this little behemoth benefit from 590Kgs of ballast perfect for rocking a curl or launching off both sides. The rough water ride and handling of the Mondo dwarf all other 20-footers. And the "MONDO" vibe continues on the inside with room for 13 people and convenient storage for all of their stuff. The only areas the Moomba Mondo doesn't measure-up is its price and physical size. The Moomba Mondo is gigantic when you want it and tiny when you need it. The new Mondo is big on "no worries".
Value
The Moomba Mondo is not a value performance boat simply because the price is lower than the next water sports boat builder's. Moomba maximizes the value to you by providing increased benefits without necessarily increasing the cost of the boats. Moomba Boats takes great pride in providing reliable functional features designed to foster the "No Worries" lifestyle for you and your family no matter what your budget. There is no better example of that commitment than the new 2014 Moomba Mondo.
Size
At 20 feet 6 inches you would expect the Moomba Mondo to be all about its convenient size, but "20-footer" just begins to describe this wake boat. Don't get us wrong, this Moomba is easy on your tow vehicle weighing in at at 1720Kgs and fits nicely into a standard garage thanks to the new OZ HD tower, but its real value comes in the form of performance and comfort.
Performance
Wether you're into wake surfing, wakeboarding, knee boarding, slalom skiing or just cruising the lake the Moomba Mondo will come through big for you. You can fine tune the multi-discipline hull design for water conditions or wakes across the wake spectrum with the Multisport Wakeplate. Pull-up the new Swivle-head Pylon and the Mondo can accommodate a slalom set too. Set the perfect speed for your session with the new graphical Digital Cruise Pro II display. Fill the Gravity III-D Ballast to 590Kgs or beyond as an upgradable quick-connect plumbed-in system. If you slide towards surfing take advantage of a Mondo curl unaffected by the swim platform with Surf+. If cruising is more your style, throttle the Indmar Assault 330 feel the control of the rack and pinion steering commanding perfectly tuned under water gear. The Moomba Mondo will do it all and without leaving anyone at the dock.
Comfort
The sacrifice for a price-point 20-foot boat can be interior comfort, but the Mondo goes big in this area too. The Mondo will accommodate 13 people, but this Moomba is not just a people mover. You can relax "no worries" style in the Mondo. Deep seating throughout the boat makes the ride safe and supportive while allowing tons of room for gear in the non-skid lined storage areas. The fiberglass floor with snap-out carpet adds even more convenience. The wide hybrid bow gives you the seating space without the "me too" pickle fork design. The driver will enjoy a swivel seat with the Rise-R flip-up bolster for all sized captains. The Mondo interior design has a fresh sporty look that combines multiple textures and colors of high quality Spradling vinyl. The new 3-pice rear seat reveals a center step into the lounge covering conveniently located wet storage. Opt for the new Sundeck Walk Across with Nonskid and make the trip from the swim deck to the interior truly no worries.
Style
And since we all know having fun on the lake gets even better when we look good doing it, the Moomba Mondo was designed with a customizable fresh style inside and out. The Moomba Mondo sports a sleek profile that can be accentuated by new available gel coat and graphics. The new Torqued gel coat scheme with Rally graphics gives the Mondo a rally sport atitude. The classic gel coat with the new Distortion graphic gives the Mondo a distinct look of orderly chaos. Finish either of these configurations with the Chrome or new Black Chrome Moomba and you won't be able to take your eyes off of your Mondo. The Moomba Mondo interior follows the exterior with a sporty design that can be as unique as the owners themselves.
The next big thing in "no worries" wake boating is small. Visit Moomba Boats Australia and test drive the 2014 Mondo.

Supra SA550 review from Supra owner and Olympic Speed Skate Coach Ryan Shimabukuro. Ryan is heavily involved in the wake community in the US and Nationally.

I first got to sit in the Supra SA the first thought that came to my mind was “I can’t wait to drive and wakeboardbehind this boat”. Today, I was lucky enough to get that opportunity.

Here’s my review of Supra’s newest flagship wakeboard boat:

Interior:
My first impression of the SA was its size, because when you’re in it, it feels a lot bigger than 22 feet. The spacious layout of the interior provides a relaxing environment for all its passengers, which is rated for 13 people. The bow area is enormous but it does not obstruct the line of sight for the driver.

I really like that they’ve gone away from using carpet on the floors, especially in the storage compartments. This reduces of the chance of mildew building up in the boat when in storage.

The quality of vinyl throughout the boat feels tremendously durable, but is also very soft and comfortable.

Typically, when there’s significant wind or boat chop, the water pounding on the hull makes it feel like it’s going to break. But the SA cut through the chop so smoothly, even when we were going 45mph into a strong headwind. At this speed, a boat this size would normally have to make a wide turn to change directions but the SA corners like it’s on rails! With strong winds, you normally get a lot of spray in the boat, especially the back seat where passengers get soaked. But the back seat remained completely dry and the bow stayed virtually untouched.

Driver’s Area:
When I’m on my boat, the majority of my time spent is in the driver’s seat. So naturally, that’s usually the first place I sit when I check out a new boat because I want to make sure that I’m absolutely comfortable the entire time I’m driving. I was completely impressed with the Electronic E-Boost Height Adjustable, Racing Style driver’s seat. The range of adjustment allowed the driver to sit low enough to have an unobstructed view but could also raise high enough to look over the windshield, if preferred. If that didn’t allow the driver to sit high enough, it also comes with a Flip-up Bolster. But the best part is that the seat can be HEATED! Obviously, it’s a very nice feature, especially for those cold morning and evening sessions.

The Supra VISION Touch System does everything but drive the boat for you. Just some of the basic functions allows you to preset driver and rider profiles, fill/drain ballast, and operate the Zero Off speed control. Some additional features include GPS mapping and integrated switching. But for those of you who don’t like touch screens, you can also operate controls using the normal style switches along the dash area. Redundancy can be a great thing! The angles of the VISION screen and analog gauges on the dash eliminated any issues of glare from the sun.

The Drive by Wire shifter was very smooth and the elbow/forearm rest pad is positioned for optimal comfort and throttle control.

Engine & Drive System:
This model had the Indmar Assault 550HP LSA 6.2L MPI with a Supercharger. Here in Northern Utah, altitude can severely slow down how fast a fully ballasted wakeboard boat can get on plane, but that was not an issue with this beast. I wakeboard at 26.7mph and we achieved riding speed in about 3-5 seconds. It absolutely blew me away that at an altitude of over 6000ft and 2200lbs of ballast, the SA got on plane like we were at sea-level with no additional ballast added to the boat.

It’s obvious that the designers at Supra strive to build a boat that’s simple, yet functional and effective because the only way to describe the overall driving experience is “relaxing”! Technology is supposed to make things easier on the consumer, but some times the end-product can intimidate the consumer. But I feel Supra hit one out of the park with the SA by combining simplicity and technology.

Liquid Lead Flex Ballast System & Wake:
With 3 hard tanks and an additional 3 add-on bags (1 front & 2 rear) totaling 2200lbs of hidden ballast, this set up produced a very clean wake with a smooth transition. The wake was consistent but not intimidating. When the rear bags were completely filled, there was even space left in the rear compartments to upgrade to larger ballast bags or use for storage. I wish I had more time to play around with the ballast configuration today, just so I could get different points of view on wake setups. And unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to wakesurf behind the SA today so I can’t provide any comments relating to the surf wake.

Tower & Z5 cargo bimini
The S-bend tower was extremely sturdy and rigid, even in the rough water conditions. This kept the wakeboards and surfboards from bouncing around in the swivel racks, eliminating the chance of damage. The one major improvement I see in the Z5 cargobimini is that it has a zippered “sun roof” built in. For me, I normally don’t use my biminiexcept in extremely hot conditions or if there’s people with sensitivity to the sun. But this zippered “sun roof” now gives you the ability to have the best of both worlds at the same time.

The first is Harley Clifford, The amount of tricks Harley can do pushes me and my riding to learn as many tricks as i can to compete. Then there's Josh who has the best style ever in wakeboarding, there is not one trick he does that looks ugly so i love to watch his style and see how he makes his tricks look so stylish. and finally there's Rusty Malinoski, Rusty is a bigger than other usual and younger wakeboarders like Harley but he can still do all of the tricks to make finals and is always coming up with new tricks no one is doing which i think is really inspiring!

who will win the US pro tour next year men's? junior Pro? Women's? - In mens i think its going to be hard to knock Harley off his game but if anyone can do it i think Shota Tezuka can do it but Harley for sure. In Jrn Pro this year its going to be a huge contest with Me and my brother along with Noah Flegal, Massi Pifferettii, Parker Siegle and Tony Iacconi. But hopefully i can get m first tour stop win this year! And in womens I think Megan ethel is so far infront of everyone else and she is so young but i know how good Nicola butler can ride and the new girl this year Bec Gange i believe will do really well!!

Next questions are yes no answers

Last question,

Best part about going wakeboarding is - When you are out on the lake on a hot summer day with a flat lake and your riding with your best friends that are killing it and everyones learning new tricks and thriving of each other, Nothing is better than that. I love wakeboarding because it pushes me to test my skills and be the best i can be.
